In support of this, in 2008, Global Entrepreneurship Week was born. Since, the event has grown rapidly on a global scale, and doubled in size. This year, Global Entrepreneurship Week will take place from the 16th to 22nd November, and there’s a full agenda of activities and events that will connect budding entrepreneurs with business advisers, investors, and like minded individuals throughout the world.
We can’t wait for GEW 2015, and to help us prepare, have chosen our five top event picks of the week.
1. Dealing with Numbers — Business Planning Workshop
Ever wanted to run a business, but less confident about the business planning side of things, including cash flow forecasts? This free, one hour workshop will give you the crash course you need to get started. Only 15 participants will be able to get on board with this one, so get in quick to secure your spot.

2. Startup Summit 2015
Described as ‘The best startup event in Europe’, the Startup Summit helps entrepreneurs meet world-leading business figures, share their stories, and most importantly — learn from each other. It’s a unique opportunity to meet influencers, leaders, and success stories, and cultivate your growing network of contacts.

3. Staffs All-Nighter
This exciting event sees entrepreneurs prepare a business idea for pitch throughout the night (including dinner, followed by 12 hours of business planning and festivities), before pitching it to the judge’s panel. With prizes up for grabs, this event is aimed at young, and student entrepreneurs.

4. Harnessing the Power of Email and SMS Marketing
Any business owner will tell you that actually starting up is only half the battle when it comes to forging a successful business. Marketing, especially where it comes to email and SMS, is essential if you want to find new customers, and to keep them coming back. Learn how you can grow your audience, and generate new business via marketing strategies and techniques.

5. Get in the Ring UK National Final
Six start ups, divided into three weight classes, literally facing each other in the ring. Across five rounds, they will each present their start up to a jury of champion investors, in front of an audience of potential investors and influencers. The idea is not only to secure investment, but to win fans — something all start ups need if they’re going to be successful.
